Based on the sub-agency's data, from January to October 2026, 994 shade trees were planted in North Jakarta.
Reina added that planting shade trees is expected to expand green canopy cover, improve air quality, and create a cooler and more beautiful urban environment.
Meanwhile, Vice of Koja District, Shalih Nopiansyar, stated the planting location on Jalan Inspeksi Kali Sunter was previously an empty plot of land that had been abandoned.
The area's arrangement was carried out through cross-sector collaboration, involving the sub-agency and the local community. Furthermore, the location is located on a busy route.
"Today we planted 10 tabebuya trees with an average height of about four meters," he stated.
He urged the community to work together to protect and care for the trees they had planted. Residents are also encouraged to utilize their yards by planting various greening plants.
